  • You can get happiness from them. Marijuana is illegal though. That's offensive, no? Sure, it's offensive to someone, but probably not God -- I don't think he happens to care much about the specifics of our legal system.

  • The reason people smoke pot is it makes them "happy", right? Well, I'm a Christian. I believe that I should draw on God for joy. That's just my opinion. I have no gripe with those who choose not to smoke pot; I've only smoked a few times myself, and never much enjoyed it.

  • Good points. I will concede that 9/11 and the War on Terror probably had some adverse effects on the economy — but it's impossible to determine exactly how much. I'd guess not very much; most people returned to their daily lives quickly after 9/11. High gas prices, perhaps.

  • I'm in agreement with those who claim that presidents claim far too much credit for the performance of the economy (that applies equally to Bush and Clinton). Bush sometimes takes a bit too much flak for economic fluctuations that are out of his control.
